Sultanate
of Oman is Located in the farthest south
east of the Arabian Peninsula. Its western
borders are with the United Arab Emirates
and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while the
Republic of Yemen lies on its southern
borders. The Arabian Sea flanks it in the
east. It overlooks two other seas, the
Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.
The Sultanate is unique and rich in terms of
culture, heritage, and topography. One will
feel its richness when driving through its
many towns and villages. Its topography
ranges from rugged mountains and deep fjords
in the north, through the spectacular dunes
of the Sharqiyah (Wahiba) Sands to the lush
green hills of the Dhofar region in the
south, famous for its Khareef season. The
country has beautiful coastlines that
stretch from northern part of the country to
the south. |
